Dear parents, dear children, my name is Flo …
… and I'm delighted to introduce myself as the specialist for music and rhythm here at our kita. Music has been with me since childhood – at 16 I started actively making music and playing in several rock bands. This passion has stayed with me my whole life and shapes my everyday life in many ways.
In 2020 I completed my training as an educator, and in the same year finished further training as a specialist for music and rhythm. I want to bring this combination of pedagogical knowledge and musical experience into our kita.
Music isn't just fun for me – it also brings joy into children's lives. I firmly believe that music is a wonderful way to express emotions, foster creativity and develop social skills. In our shared music and rhythm sessions we won't just sing and make music, but also dance, feel and move.
I'm looking forward to discovering the world of sound together with the children, and bringing them closer to the joy of music. Let's experience an inspiring time full of melodies and rhythms together!

Early childhood music
Music and rhythm are at the heart of our children's development. With fun and joy, they discover far more than just making music. A wide range of musical activities fosters various skills that matter greatly for early childhood education.
Music strengthens concentration
Music wonderfully supports our children's concentration. Actively listening and joining in with rhythmic activities requires attention, and strengthens the ability to focus on a task.
Musical activities support early maths skills
Through rhythm and timing, children develop an understanding of patterns and counting, which is fundamental for learning mathematics later on.
From body space to number space
Music playfully supports the transition from body space to number space. Children learn to use their body as an instrument, which strengthens their motor skills and gives them a sense of space and movement.
Cooperation
Cooperation is a central part of our musical work. Making music and dancing together fosters teamwork and social interaction. Children learn to be considerate, to make decisions and to resolve conflicts.
Language development
Music plays a decisive role in language development. Through singing, rhyming and playing with sounds, children playfully expand their vocabulary and improve their pronunciation.
Altogether, music and rhythm form a valuable foundation for our children's cognitive, social and emotional development. Parents can rely on the fact that our activities are not just fun, but also foster important life skills.
